I left my job as a professional leading chef in 2019 to become an entrepreneur.
I now own several businesses and I enjoy an entrepreneurial life alongside my family.
I believe that anyone can achieve this freedom and that the entrepreneurial spirit is going to change/save this world.
About Me.
My name is Jan (pronounced Yun) Hoffmann. I am a german ex-pat and entrepreneur with hospitality in my blood. So I can't help but serve people, and I do that in my very own way. It is kind of different from the old-fashioned style we all know.
How it all began and why I am not going back.
I was approaching the 28-year mark in international luxury hospitality, my wife was pregnant with our second child and I was pushing crazy work weeks when I decided to start my own business.
I grew up in Germany in a small provincial town where farming and guest houses are as normal as stretch malls and diners here in the states. That's how good food and a sense of hospitality had been branded into me like it's my tribe. It made me who I am today, humble and hard-working I guess.
I chose the chef profession because it allowed me to work wherever I wanted, and I traveled westbound to the Caribbean and the US of A. While working for a renowned cruise company out of Miami, I met my wife and we moved to NY city together, where I worked aside some amazing chefs and learned a great deal about not just culinary arts but life. We decided to move back to SW Florida and had the idea of finding a way out of the hospitality hamster wheel. Much later I realized that I was attracting this action into my life just like I had learned it in my journey of personal development. I believe that once we set our minds on something and strive to gain clarity on what we want to achieve, nothing can stop us from getting exactly that.
I enjoyed my time in the kitchen tremendously, yet I think there comes a time for everyone when you want to turn your back on F&B, to have more time with your family and still be able to provide and be the husband and dad that you deserve to be.
Being an entrepreneur by utilizing the internet as my market in helping others achieve the same freedom I am enjoying is what I am about. The truth to the matter is that I will not be returning to employment ever again.
